Topic
Whither Global Health? The Evolving Landscape and Implications for the Asia Pacific
Synopsis
The world order has been rapidly changing since the beginning of 2025. The United States’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) has sparked extensive discussions on global health reform. Unsurprisingly, these discussions reflect the fragmentation of the current global health architecture. This talk will review the major strands of debate, examine the associated opportunities and challenges, and explore how universities and other stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region can engage constructively in this evolving landscape.
