Call for Abstracts


The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to submit abstracts for (1) Indiviadual Oral or Poster Presentations and (2) Group Proposals. Abstracts must be submitted through the online Abstract Submission Portals.

Abstracts submitted will be reviewed by the APRU Global Health Conference 2026 Scientific Committee.  For accepted abstracts, the mode of presentation will either be in oral or poster format and be decided by the Committee.

Instructions

  1. Abstract must be submitted via the Online Abstract Submission Portal.
  2. Abstracts can only be submitted in English.
  3. The abstract submitter will receive all correspondences related to the abstract and is responsible for informing co-authors of the status. It is important to ensure that emails from enquiry@aprughc2026.hk are not marked as spam in order to receive confirmation. If you wish to change the contact person for the abstract, please send an email to inform the Conference Secretariat at enquiry@aprughc2026.hk.
  4. After receiving the notification, all abstract presenters must reconfirm their attendance by registering to the Conference.  Failure to reconfirm attendance, register, and pay the registration fee by 30 September 2026 will result in the cancellation of the abstract presentation.
  5. Submitting an abstract is a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract orally or as a poster in the session and time assigned by the APRU Global Health Conference 2026 Scientific Committee.

For Group Proposal submission only

  1. Each group proposal must include three to five presenters representing at least three different institutions, who will present on the same theme. One of the presenters must be designated as the group coordinator, who will serve as the primary contact for all communications regarding the panel. 
  2. The group coordinator is responsible for submitting all abstracts on behalf of the group. He/she should compile all required information into a single Word file and upload it to the submission portal. A group proposal submission form can be downloaded here.
  3. The same abstract cannot be submitted as both an individual abstract and as part of a group proposal. Abstracts submitted to both categories will be disqualified.
  4. Group proposals will be evaluated and accepted as a single entry, rather than on an individual basis. There is no partial acceptance: either all abstracts in the group are accepted together, or the entire proposal is declined. Individual abstracts within a group proposal will not be considered separately.

Abstract Format

The abstract should be structured as follows:

  • Background/Objectives: Provide the rationale and aims of the work.
  • Methods: Describe the study design, participants, and analytical approach.
  • Results: Summarize the key findings.
  • Conclusions: Discuss the significance and implications of the work.

The abstract should not exceed 400 words, excluding the title, authors, affiliations, and keywords. The title should be concise and clearly indicate the content of the abstract. The abstract should NOT contain tables, graphs, or references.

Selection Criteria    

The selection criteria are as below:

1. Clarity and Organization (20%)

  • Is the abstract well-structured, easy to follow, and free of jargon?
  • Does it clearly outline the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions?

2. Relevance (20%)

  • Is the topic relevant to the conference theme and audience?
  • Does it address important or timely issues in the field?

3. Originality and Innovation (20%)

  • Does the abstract present new ideas, methods, or findings?
  • Is it innovative or does it provide fresh insights into existing problems?

4. Methodological Rigor (20%)

  • Are the research design, methods, and analysis appropriate and robust?
  • Are they clearly explained and scientifically sound?

5. Impact and Significance (20%)

  • Do the findings have potential implications for practice, policy, or further research?
  • Is the work meaningful and likely to contribute to advancements in the field?

Notes:

  1. The abstracts cannot be edited once submitted. An author may request in writing to withdraw an abstract if an error is found on the abstract submitted.
  2. The abstract contents, author names and affiliations will be published exactly as submitted. It is the author's responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the abstract, including spelling, grammar, and scientific facts.
  3. Submission of the abstract constitutes your consent to publish in all Conference’s materials (e.g. website, programme, etc.).
  4. The author must warrant and represent that they are the sole owner of, or hold the necessary rights to, all the information and content provided to the APRU Global Health Conference 2026, and affirm that the publication of the abstract does not infringe any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  5. All abstracts will be published in the Journal of Public Health and Emergency (JPHE). In addition, select authors will be invited to develop their abstracts into full papers for a special edition of this journal. All publications costs will be waived. The Journal of Public Health and Emergency (ISSN: 2520-0054) is an open access, international, peer-reviewed online journal. It publishes original research articles and reviews on public health and emergency, including health improvement, health protection, service improvement, acute injury, sudden illness, etc. It aims to advance research, policy, practice, and education of public health and emergency medicine. JPHE is indexed and covered by Web of Science [Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)], as well as Scopus and Google Scholar.
  6. The submission should not have been published before, or presented in previous academic conferences.
  7. The author grants the organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content.
  8. A letter of invitation for visa purposes and a certificate of participation will be provided to all registered conference attendees.

Workshop Proposals

The Organizing Committee invites proposals for non-academic workshops. Each workshop should be about 45 minutes in duration and include both presentations and interactive group discussions. Submissions should provide the following information:

  • Name and title of the presenters
  • Title of the workshop
  • Summary of the workshop proposal (250-300 words)
  • Objective
  • Background
  • Content
  • Expected deliverables
