Objectives and Background

The APRU Global Health Conference 2026, hosted by the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), marks the latest installment of the APRU Global Health Programme’s flagship annual event.
As a strategic network of over 60 premier research universities across the Pacific Rim, APRU fosters interdisciplinary partnerships to tackle pressing global issues, with its Global Health Programme devoted to regional dialogue and collaborative action in response to the rapidly shifting landscape of public health.
Since joining APRU in 2017, CUHK has played a pivotal role in advancing global health through research leadership, educational initiatives, and active student engagement.
The 2026 Conference will:
- Showcase and exchange innovative research and community-driven practices that build adaptive capacity for health threats, focusing on climate-sensitive diseases, digital health solutions, and resilient health governance
- Foster cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary alliances that are essential for developing proactive and adaptive strategies across the Pacific Rim
- Engage healthcare professionals and decision-makers in the region and beyond
- Support student development through competitions and interactive learning opportunities
