Topic
Developing and Evaluating Primary Care Interventions for People with Mental Health Problems: Reflections and Future Directions
Synopsis
People with mental health problems are commonly managed in primary care, yet translating evidence into sustainable practice remains challenging. Drawing on two decades of UK research on distress, depression and anxiety, this presentation will highlight key lessons from intervention development, clinical trials, implementation research and practitioner training. It will emphasize the role of patient and public involvement in shaping meaningful research and improving outcomes. Future priorities include personalized care, co-production and addressing inequities in both mental health services and research.
